Google sandbox was implemented around March 2004 with the purpose of tracing spam sites by placing all new websites under quarantine for a period of assessment. Now the most interesting point How does the Google Sandbox Affect a New Website?
Although the Google Sandbox is designed to target spam sites but in reality it also affects all new websites. Google Sandbox Algorithm Functions is to prevent all new sites from coming on the top fly by night overtaking quality websites that have been around for years. There are many factors those determine the length of the website’s duration in the Google Sandbox. For example if there is a high competition on the keywords your website is targeting then the duration of website in Google Sandbox will be a little longer.
Being an SEO Consultant I always suggest people not to adopt any shortcut to earn more money. I have worked on many websites those were sandboxed for a very long period of time. But now they appear on the top listings of Google. There are many things you need to measure before you take an initiative to start digging your website out of the sandbox.
Some general techniques I suggest or do for my clients are:
- Add Quality Content to your Website
- Work on Increasing the number of quality inbound links
- Tweak and Improve the SEO Quality of your site
- Write Unique Articles and publish them on quality article sites.
These are just some general tips you can perform but there is literally no limit of list of things you have to perform to get your website out of the sandbox. Don’t spend all your time trying to outwit Google. Meanwhile you can do many things to generate traffic to your website.
I have observed that an average time that a website spends in Google Sandbox is around at least 3 months. There are many ways to shorten the time your website will spend in the sandbox.
- Register your domain name for more than one year
- Upload your website live even if that is not ready
- Maintain good SEO linking campaigns
