Measuring the Success of Your SEO Efforts

Many SEO Consultants still think that the success of their SEO Effort is actually the ranking they have achieved on the Search Engine for their targeted keywords. But if you think in broader sense you will be able to understand that the TOP Rankings you have achieved on search engines are for no use if you are unable to attract your targeted market.

Getting tons of traffic on your website or getting ranked on Google or any other search engine is not difficult at all but if there is no conversion, it will not give good results to your business. The measurement of Success of your SEO Effort or Return on Investment is never based on the keyword rankings but the overall conversion of traffic into valuable sales.

In SEO, we need to ensure that our website appears only for the relevant keywords and the relevant keyword should represent the need of the visitors and should also be integrated with the services we offer. SEO is very tedious, time consuming and expensive process but is really beneficial in long run. So instead of wasting money you must target highly potential keywords and make sure that the content of your website revolve around the actual theme of your business.

  1. Join Website Statistic Program and track your website traffic. Google Analytics and Google Webmaster are good tools to track your SEO Efforts
  2. See the relevance of the keywords with your website content and theme
  3. Make sure that the content and tagging of your website revolve around the theme
  4. The Time visitors spend on your website. Always try to make your website interesting for visitors so that they would like to spend more time on your website, exploring the contents.
  5. Total number of sales you get from your website. If your website is getting good traffic but your sales conversion is comparatively lesser, that means there is something wrong with your website or may be the keyword is not good enough to attract target buyers.

 

Measuring Performance is the only tool that helps in fixing the deficiencies and improving the overall performance. I learnt many things throughout my career but the most important thing I always recommend my associates and clients is to adopt proactive approach instead of corrective. Proactive approach helps you to arrange some preventive measures before the actual deficiency occurs whereas Corrective approach is about solving the problems once they have occurred.
